u.g.h, so we met up with the big football player guys. freaking huge, once i see mckenna/lauren, i'll get those pics up, my camera was all sorts of dead last night. well the guys.. tim (wr), steveo (wr) curly (de), russ(fs) and tom (rt) are very, very cool guys. it was funny, cause my good friend russ comes up to me asking me if i wanted to come play with them tomorrow...as im standing next to curly and tom.
let me paint a picture with words...its like this
russ: 6'2'', 220 lbs, black
tom: 6'7'', 332 lbs, farm boy
curly: 6'5'', 286 lbs, balding
big guys...the other two are about my height and weight but still...point is, i almost played with them today. why didnt i you ask???
well, we had something to do...
here it is, we went to The Down House. Its the home of many gorgeous plants and pool tables, of survival of the fittest, theory of evolution, of mr. chucky d. Also known as Charles Darwin. We didn't have class today to make room for this excursion. We got up around 8, 830 and went downstairs to meet up with everyone. Got on the charter bus and drove about an hour to this out-in-the-middle of nowhere town. anyway, so we got there and dr mcgee got us all registered and into the place.
it was freaking pouring...
we finally got in and had to eat our lunches we brought. i had a prawn and mayonase. whoo, it was...interesting. i told myself that while i was here i would not allow myself to eat, or drink anything i could have over there. funny cause i ALMOST was forced to go to starbucks last night, everything here closes at like...8. i guess so they can all go out and drink. anyway, so i had this 'sandwich' and liz said that if i puked she wouldnt let me forget it. so we eat our luches and we all pile onto the property which is absolutly gorgeous. you can finally see how awesome it is. what he did was have all these different experiments with plants, and he'd walk around 3 times a day to clear his head when he was writing his theory on evolution. so he'd walk down through this pathway, open up his experiments and check em out, see how they're doing...
i was at the same place chucky d was. we had about 30 of us total, with all the professors and kids. when we got there they split us up and the antropology class had to do an assignment that required them to find all these experiments...so we went to the tea room to have a cup o tea and get away from the fridged artic summer. i met my lover. her name is jade (haha, for all the guys) and she was this...little blonde, maid.
...sigh
anyway, so i took this audio tour of the place. i couldn't take any type of pictures from the inside, so outside is all i got...
picture, outside
so i get inside, and the tour costs only 2 pounds, so i payed with pence cause im just so damn confused with this whole currency situation...its nuts man. so you get this little ear piece you hold up to your ear like a phone, walk around and in the study, you push number 1. so some dude comes on tells ya about the hallway going into this house, the grandfather clock, the..everything. the most interesting part of it, was we all saw his study. his chair and his board where he actually wrote the freaking documents...the pages of this theory. pretty amazing. he was very, very classy of a guy. he was a huge family man, he was all about his two daugters. he bought her a grand piano that would have cost now about 30,000 dollars, 15,000 pounds. she jammed out on that thing, he wrote about how...stuff is in evolutionary...
so, the most amazing part was that he actually built on a huge expansion to his house so that he could have more room for his servants...he had one bulter, i think, that played pool with him every day, amazing pool table. gorgeous oak with green felt and a brass candle lamp for playing pool in the dark. it was awesome. i was listening to this audio thingey, and i leaned on the table as if it were just a table. well, chucky d probably did the same thing. thats pretty cool man.
anyway, so then we waiting around for like an hour for mcgee to finish his tours and stuff. we got back home in about an hour, driving through the rain...it was kinda scurry...but fun...oddly.
we get back to la franc and all the doors here open automatically, so you need a card to get in. well the la franc doors are steel and wooden gates. i pretty much feel like a king everytime i go back. its great.
anyway, when we were on the way to grab some coffee, i acutally saw the place rubert bear was born...pretty cool

Nice tour to Chucky D's. Much more interesting thatn Chucky Cheese. Glad you are appreciating the significance of it all. It gets overwhelming sometimes, though.
Sounds like you are also balancing out school with touristing. Had to be said. Part of my duty.
The football game would have been a blast in the rain. You're quick, but does quick trump huge!
Enjoy your self, as if it needs to be said.
So the pictures are great, Cori and I would like to see more of the architecture, the churches, the buildings you're visiting, not necessarily the girls you're hanging around with!
BTW: good job on the B, YEA and finally!!
BE CAREFUL and have fun!
When's Rome and Paris?
